It’s Good to Be Green…

Having recently celebrated its 125th Anniversary, Fitzgerald Abbott & Beardsley realizes that sustainability is integral not only to the continued success of its legal practice, but for the environment as a whole. While FAB has consistently taken steps to conserve natural resources in its office, over the past year it has increased its efforts through the Green Business Program, which offers a framework to improve environmental performance. Such efforts include:

  • All draft paper is made out of 100% recycled material
  • Our business cards, letterhead, bond paper and envelopes are made of 100% recycled material with soy and vegetable oil-based ink
  • We have begun the process of replacing our office supplies with higher recycled content of at least 30% (file folders, envelopes, post-its, etc.)
  • We are currently replacing our pens and pencils with refillable pens and pencils made out of recycled materials
  • Our kitchens stock paper plates, bowls, napkins, paper towels and tissues that are made of 100% recycled material. In addition, we use corn starch utensils. Our kitchens also stock 100% biodegradable soaps, cleaners and detergents
  • We offer commuter choice tickets to encourage the use of public transportation for our employees
  • We have eliminated regular bottled waters and are in the process of eliminating all other beverages in plastic bottles
  • We are working with our vendors with e-waste recycling
  • We are working with professionals within our facility to address energy and conservation changes, as well as pollution prevention issues

We will be continuing these efforts as well as others as we continually strive to make our firm more sustainable.
