Fitzgerald Abbott & Beardsley Attorney Michael Caples Returns from Iraq -- Rejoins Firm
(Oakland, CA) - Fitzgerald Abbott & Beardsley (FAB), a mid-sized, multipractice law firm located in downtown Oakland, today announced the return to the firm of labor and employment attorney Michael Caples. Caples, a Colonel in the United States Army Reserve, recently completed a fourteen-month tour of duty in Iraq and rejoined the firm's labor and employment group as Of Counsel, effective July 5, 2006.

Colonel Caples is a member of the 351st Civil Affairs Command, based in Mountain View, California. During his deployment he was the senior military officer directly establishing and overseeing Provincial Reconstruction Teams working to develop the capacity of the provincial governments in Iraq's 18 provinces to govern effectively.
"I am looking forward to working with the wonderful people at FAB, to reconnecting with clients, and to reestablishing a normal routine," said Caples. "The support from my family and friends in the firm when I was in Iraq was phenomenal and I know it will continue with this transition," he added.
Upon his return to the United States, Caples took some time off to be with his wife and five children who range in age from a 10-year old daughter to a 20 year old son, a cadet at the United States Air Force Academy.
