Fitzgerald Abbott & Beardsley's Summer Associate Program offers second-year law students an opportunity to obtain an excellent grounding in the day-to-day practice of law. Each fall, we interview students who may be invited to join us for an internship the following summer. We conduct on-campus interviews at law schools including Boalt Hall, U.C. Davis, Hastings and the University of San Francisco, however we do not limit our search to those schools. We invite inquiries from students attending other accredited law schools and grant initial interviews to those with appropriate credentials who can meet with us in the Bay Area. Secondary interviews occur at FAB's Oakland offices and provide an opportunity for more detailed meetings with several attorneys.

Summer associates gain substantial legal experience during their internships with FAB. They perform legal research, draft memoranda and pleadings and observe courtroom proceedings and client conferences. Summer associates also have opportunities to get to know FAB attorneys on a social level during a variety of outings.
