Mr. White is a partner and member of the firm's Litigation Group of which he served as Chair for more than two decades. He practices extensively in the areas of commercial, corporate and business litigation and represents clients in cases involving real estate, corporate and commercial, trade secret, nonprofit and employment issues.
During his thirty-eight-year career as a litigator, Mr. White has used a proactive approach to help clients avoid litigation. However, when litigation becomes necessary, he has helped clients receive favorable results in a wide variety of matters including shareholder suits, unfair trade and competitive business practices, customer list and trade secret disputes, contested partnership and corporate accountings and dissolutions, real property and insurance disputes and probate and estate litigation.
Mr. White has litigated matters in state and federal courts throughout California and has substantial experience handling appellate matters as well as mediation and arbitration proceedings. Mr. White has handled eighteen appeals, of which he prevailed in fourteen, several of which are published.
Mr. White represents clients ranging from individuals, small and family-owned businesses and nonprofit entities to Fortune 500 companies, product manufacturers and distributors, franchisors, high-tech companies and a major port.
Mr. White has written articles on a variety of litigation topics and is the lead presenter for the firm's "How to Avoid Litigation" seminars. In 1997, he was awarded the Volunteer of the Year award by the Alameda County Bar Association Volunteer Legal Services Panel for his pro bono legal services to the indigent of Alameda County.
