Mr. Ward is Managing Partner of the firm, a member of its Executive Committee and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group.
Mr. Ward advises numerous management clients on every aspect of employer-employee relations including hiring, discipline and termination, policies and employee handbooks, wage and hour issues and severance plan administration. He negotiates, creates and maintains employee benefit and executive compensation plans, agreements and programs. He also has extensive experience in trade secret and unfair competition matters.
Mr. Ward has extensive litigation experience defending management clients in the entire spectrum of employer-employee disputes, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, whistleblower and wage and hour lawsuits.
His litigation experience includes defending against individual and multiparty lawsuits, as well as numerous class actions. Mr. Ward also has significant appellate experience in both state and federal courts of appeal.
Mr. Ward regularly presents customized, on-site training programs for clients on harassment prevention and a variety of other labor and employment topics.
Mr. Ward also frequently speaks on labor and employment issues for many organizations throughout the greater Bay Area including the Council on Education in Management, Lorman Education Services, Sterling Education Services, and the East Bay Association of Legal Administrators.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Ward served as an Extern Clerk to the Honorable James Perley of the California Court of Appeal in 1993.
