Fatima Brunson Evans

  • Experience

    Ms. Evans is a partner and a member of the firm’s Estates & Trusts Practice Group. Ms. Evans’ practice focuses on estate planning, probate and trust administration. In the estate planning context, Ms. Evans is devoted to working with her clients to create an estate plan that meets their goals and carries out their wishes. To this end, Ms. Evans implements wealth preservation strategies in preparing wills and a variety of trust vehicles. She also has substantial experience in preparing special needs trusts for estate planning clients and when litigation arises. Ms. Evans also prepares durable powers of attorney and advance health care directives to protect her clients in the event of incapacity.

    Upon the death of a loved one, Ms. Evans handles a variety of probate and trust administration matters. She frequently advises fiduciaries (executors and trustees) regarding their ongoing duties and the laws affecting their relationships with beneficiaries. She also has extensive experience protecting individual, charitable, and institutional beneficiaries through advocacy and counseling.

    Ms. Evans is often appointed by the courts to serve as guardian ad litem to protect the interests of incapacitated adults and minor children. In addition, Ms. Evans is a frequent presenter of trust and estate related topics to a variety of audiences.
